1. What the Codarab Pay supported currencies list means
Codarab Pay supported currencies are the currencies you can use to price your products, charge your customers and hold a balance when you accept card payments on your WooCommerce store. If your shop currency is on this list, your checkout works normally. If it is not, the payment will be refused before it reaches the card network.
Codarab Pay is a WordPress plugin built on the PayPal API. Your customers pay by credit or debit card directly on your store, and the money arrives in the PayPal account you connect. Because of that architecture, both the Codarab Pay supported currencies and the supported countries follow PayPal's own rules.
This page gives you the full list, the country requirements, and the small limits that apply to a few specific currencies. Read it before you buy, so there is no surprise at checkout.
2. What you need before you start
That is all. There is no registered company requirement on our side, no monthly fee and no long approval process. Integration usually takes a few minutes once your PayPal account is ready.
3. Supported countries
Codarab Pay works in every country where PayPal lets a merchant open an account and receive money. In practice this covers the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the whole European Union, and a large part of Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
PayPal updates this list regularly, and some features are enabled market by market. So rather than copying a list that will be outdated next month, we point you to the official source:
4. Business or personal PayPal account?
The type of PayPal account you need depends on where you are based.

In several countries a simple personal PayPal account is enough to switch on the Standard Cards option and start selling. This is not true everywhere, and in the markets listed above a Business account is the safe choice. Upgrading from personal to business is free and takes a few minutes inside PayPal.

6. Limits on some currencies
Four of the Codarab Pay supported currencies come with a specific rule. Check the footnote number next to your currency in the table above.
- 1 No decimal values. Sending an amount with decimals returns an error, so set your WooCommerce prices as whole numbers for HUF, JPY and TWD.
- 2 Brazilian real. Supported as a payment currency and for in-country balances. Money sent to a non-Brazilian account is converted to the primary currency at PayPal's exchange rate.
- 3 Malaysian ringgit. Supported only for in-country balances and payments.
- 4 Chinese Renminbi. Balances are supported only for in-country PayPal accounts in China.
7. Setting your WooCommerce store currency
Your shop currency must match one of the Codarab Pay supported currencies. You can check it in two clicks:
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to WooCommerce → Settings → General.
- Look at the Currency field and compare the three-letter code with the table above.
- If your currency is not listed, choose the closest supported one, usually USD or EUR, and save.
Changing the shop currency does not convert your existing prices automatically, so review your product prices afterwards. If you sell in several regions, a multi-currency plugin can display converted prices while the charge is still made in a supported currency.
8. Check your country in three steps
- Open the PayPal worldwide page and select your country.
- Confirm that PayPal lets you receive payments there, not only send them.
- Open or upgrade a PayPal Business account, then connect it to Codarab Pay.

Can I use Codarab Pay if PayPal is not available in my country?
No. Codarab Pay is built on the PayPal API, so an account able to receive payments is required. Without it the plugin cannot process any transaction.
Do I need a PayPal Business account?
A Business account is recommended, especially in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and Europe. Elsewhere a personal account is often enough to enable standard card payments.
Can my customers pay from any country?
Yes. Once your store is connected, buyers worldwide can pay by Visa or Mastercard, subject to their own bank and to PayPal's rules.
What happens if my store currency is not supported?
The transaction is refused before it reaches the card network. Switch your WooCommerce currency to one of the Codarab Pay supported currencies, usually USD or EUR, and the checkout will work again.
